Experience Opportunity

Future Leaders

Take part in Future Leaders flexible leadership experience in January-April 2024. Applications close 11 December.

FUTURE LEADERS links 19 regional theatres in a series of in-person and online events including insight days, mentoring, skills bootcamp workshops and networking events which fire curiosity about careers in theatre and dance.

What is Future Leaders? Future Leaders is open to anyone aged 19-26 who wants to grow experience and connections in UK theatre and dance. Future Leaders features insight days at three UK regional theatres plus bite-sized online workshops and meetings with industry experts. Running from January to April 2024, Future Leaders is free, flexible and designed to fit around work or study commitments.

Is it for me? Future Leaders is ideal for people keen to explore producing, venue and festival programming, artistic management, learning and engagement, public events, tour co-ordination, marketing, digital communications, press and PR, fundraising and more. Dance Consortium’s network of 19 regional theatres set up Future Leaders in 2015 to promote a range of producing and theatre management and administration roles. We’re especially keen to connect with people who see off-stage work such as running creative events, producing artistic projects, marketing, promoting or fundraising as part of their working life in the future.

Apply by Monday 11 December 2023. Half of the places will be offered to people from underrepresented backgrounds who may experience barriers becoming part of the UK’s theatre workforce.
