Experience Opportunity

Glastonbury Festival Mentorship

Shelly Worthy Eveleigh (daughter of Alfred Fagon) is offering a mentorship for two Black British theatre practitioners to gain experience in theatre and circus festival production at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

Shelly is the Stage Manager of the Outside Circus Stage and the Circus Field in the Theatre and Circus Area at Glastonbury Festival.  She has managed these stages for 20 years.

Shelly facilitates communication across all creative and technical departments; acts as a right hand to the director; oversees sets, props, lights, and sound and supervises all technical cues during performances.

Under Shelley’s supervision mentees will:

  • Work alongside the stage managers and crew within the Theatre and Circus Area.
  • Be based on the Outside Circus Stage and The Circus Field.
  • Have their camping gear, footwear and food provided.
  • Whilst there you will be camping in the Outside Circus Stage and the Circus Field area backstage that has its own restaurant, bar, stage, showers and toilets

Mentees will spend time in these different areas:

  • The Cabaret Stage
  • The Circus Big Top
  • The Four Riser stages
  • The Theatre Tent
  • The Backstage production
  • The Site crew

The Outside Circus Stage and Circus Field team’s job is to look after the artists so they can put on the best show possible.  They are also responsible for helping the welfare of the public who are attending the festival.

Fee: This is an unpaid role however, travel and accommodation costs will be covered.
