Introduction to Drama School Summer School

This five-day in-person summer school offers young people the opportunity to find out more about the demands and rigors of drama school training.

Through practical, participatory work participants will experience the type of teaching on four of our drama degree programmes and discover what kind of preparation is required for applying to them.

You will have classes in all areas to help you broaden your understanding of what we offer at the Conservatoire as well as a chance to delve a bit deeper into your area of interest. You will also have the chance to take part in Q&A sessions with our admission team and current students and lecturers.

You will explore the work done on BA Acting, BA Musical Theatre, BA Contemporary Theatre Practice and BA Performance in British Sign Language and English*.

Participants will also be guided through the process of preparing for auditions and interviews, and receive tips on how to give your best on the big day.

By the end of the course participants will have:

- Discovered what is involved in full time drama training

- Gained an insight into what is required for a career in the creative industry

- Received support and advice for audition preparation

- Met like-minded people interested in pursuing a training and career in the arts
