Long Form Improvisation classes - Autumn 2021

This is a fun course with play (spontaneity) built into the heart of it. It is appropriate for those who have some experience in improvisation (intermediate level) and are looking for an intensive hit of creativity. This ten-week course will explore the practical elements of Long-Form Improvised performance and will give you the skills and confidence to transfer these into your work and life.

Who is this for:

- Actors: Looking to sharpen up their acting / performance skills (working in the moment) – TV casting (adverts)

- Companies: For those who are interested in developing their own improvised performance or those who are looking to devise

- Writers: Who apply improvisation in developing new plays (devising)

- Directors: Who apply improvisation in developing new plays (devising)

- Teachers: Who are looking to develop their experience in facilitating improvisation

You will explore and investigate the following areas through games-based exercises:

- Character

- Relationships

- Authenticity

- Physical (mime / shape / object and space)

- Story – developing scenes

- Transition between scenes and characters

Cost: £120 (equates to £6 per hour) – there are three places available for those who are unwaged (pay what you can)

Where: Liverpool Arts Bar, Hope Street, Liverpool, L1 9BQ

When: Runs for ten weeks – Monday – 6:30- 8:30pm - 4th October – 6th December
