MAKE Online: An Online Platform for Black Artists
Introducing MAKE Online, a digital community for Black British Artists, by Black British artists...
Talawa Theatre Company launched MAKE Online in late 2018 (BETA). In early 2019, we formally launched the digital community to give Black British theatre artists ownership and agency of their careers.
MAKE Online provides a dedicated digital space for artists at all stages of their careers to encounter each other and to change the shape of British theatre. MAKE Online is available to Black British theatre artists across the UK. Members of the theatre industry are welcome to join and post jobs, commissions, opportunities, castings and more
MAKE Online brings artists together to cultivate relationships with their peers and the wider theatre industry, whether as directors and performers, writers, or makers. Artists can register and create a profile, signpost their skills and experience, connect, contact, create and contribute to open discussions, curate and promote events and view these on a map, share resources, or create project specific or interest groups.
MAKE Online is the digital wing to our physical home at Fairfield Halls in Croydon, and is also an online extension for the MAKE community nationwide, reaching beyond our London headquarters.
Talawa Theatre Company is the UK's outstanding Black theatre company.
Our purpose is to champion Black Excellence in theatre; to nurture talent in emerging and established artists of African or Caribbean heritage and to tell inspirational and passionate stories, reflecting Black experiences through art.
