Our Musician Auditions for 2024 are now available to book!

Each year we offer opportunities to talented young musicians (aged 11-21), who play ANY instrument to a grade 7 standard and above, to play in a pit-band or on-stage band!

You’ll be placed on a residential project, between one and two weeks long, to create a brand new piece of music theatre. BYMT projects take place in July/August across the UK and the selection process is not based on geography, so you may not be placed on the course closest to where you live - you may be working in London, Aberdeen, Plymouth, Belfast or somewhere else! You’ll be working with a professional team to create a brand-new show on one of our residential productions. The majority of the material will be provided whilst you are on site, so get ready for fast creation of some wonderful music!

Our musician auditions are free of charge. If you are successful in joining a production, there is a course fee, which are heavily subsidised by the funding we receive. Furthermore, we operate a Bursary Scheme that offers bursaries of up to 75% of the course fees. Anyone who has a gross household income of up to £40,000 per year is eligible to apply.

The course fees for musicians usually range from £500 - £1000. This covers:

- Training from excellent professional Creative Team

- Care from our Pastoral Team

- Residential accommodation

- All meals, drinks and snacks

- A contribution to theatre costs, marketing and our overheads
