Whilst all levels of experience are welcome, auditioning performers must be aged 18 – 25 (on first day of rehearsal).
This is an open call-out for local voluntary young performers, aged 18-25, to form a dance and acting ensemble for the landmark Exeter Northcott production of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Directed by our Creative Director Martin Berry, this epic new production will run from 2 – 12 July this year.
This timeless story of youth will be told by an ensemble of 15 local young dancers aged 18 – 25, alongside 5 professional performers.
The hunt is now on for the volunteer young people who will form this dance ensemble.
The open auditions will be held on March 3, March 7 and March 8 at either the Barnfield or Northcott Theatre – an audition date will be allocated to you once applications have closed.
Applicants will be offered an audition in a workshop format, led by the director and choreographer.
Rehearsals will then take place on Thursday evenings between April and July, with some additional rehearsals on Saturdays in June (June 7, 14, and 21).
The production runs from 2- 12 July, with some day time performances. The full performance schedule is below, you will need to be available for all the performances.
Anyone who would like to audition can sign up by Monday February 24 at 12pm.
Audition places are limited, so early application is encouraged. We may stop accepting applications once the slots are full.
