SEN Work Experience 2021
We offer a programme of work experience for learning disabled young people aged 16 - 24.
Participants spend time with each department in the venue, experiencing what is required to run a busy, professional arts venue. The group will also have opportunities to work with artists and external practitioners. The programme aims to develop the young people’s understanding of potential routes into careers and opportunities in the arts as well as developing both creative and employability skills. Participants also work towards Arts Award qualifications. Following the programme some students go on to carry out work experience placements with partner organisations.
Students can complete their application independently or be supported by a teacher/parent to do so.
We want to ensure the best experience for schools and their students and will cap the group size. We expect to be able to offer each school/college up to five places. However, some schools may have fewer students taking part so please apply with the number of students you have who are interested and suitable and we will let you know if we can take more than five.
Applications close on Friday 22 October at 5pm and we will hold a short group interview on Friday 6 November that will give participants a taste of the programme and allow us to gauge group dynamics and enable us to identify any additional support which we can provide.
The 10-12 week programme will run weekly at artsdepot on Fridays from Friday 12 November. If you have any questions, please contact Francesca at Francesca.Cross@artsdepot.co.uk.
