Summer on Stage 2023: Seniors Performance Course

Summer on Stage provides the unique opportunity to develop performance and backstage skills in Scotland's leading producing theatre, followed by the opportunity to perform on the Lyceum's main stage - just one example of The Lyceum's dedication to developing Scotland’s considerable indigenous talents!

If you’re passionate about performing, want to learn about the technical aspects of theatre, or if you're just looking for a new challenge, then take a look at our groups below.

We offer a limited number of bursaries to support young people participating in Summer on Stage at The Lyceum. For information on bursaries please email.

Suitable for ages 14-18, this performance course is for those interested in building their confidence as a performer and working as an ensemble to create a full-scale stage performance. This year's course will be working on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein by Mary Shelley and Rona Munro.

Mary Shelley was only 18 years old when she wrote one of the most famous pieces of science fiction to exist. In a version of the text Rona Munro reimagines the dark dreams of this teenager’s creation into a stage production where Mary’s voice is at the front of the action.

Directed by Sophie Howell, join the Lyceum Youth Theatre Summer on Stage senior company to bring Dr Frankenstein and his monster to life.

Dates: Tuesday 4 - Saturday 22 July

10am - 4:30pm each day (not weekends, excluding Saturday 22 July)
