Stage Management Summer School
This one week course is equally suited to those with some Stage Management experience, wishing to improve or extend their skills, as well as to those with limited experience, wishing to explore the work of the Stage Management Team and the production process. The programme will prove invaluable to those wishing to take their first steps into the profession or for those applying to related courses, as well as those keen to improve the stage management in their individual societies.
The course aims to enable each student to gain an understanding of the procedures and practice of the professional theatrical world in a fun and engaging way.
The course will include sessions covering:
Roles and responsibilities
Production planning and scheduling
Interpreting drawings and ‘Marking Out’
Organisation - paperwork and forms
Prompt Copy and cueing techniques
Resource management/running the ‘Tech’
The course is delivered in a light-hearted but informative style and requires a lot of sharing and input from the participants to get the most out of the week. The majority of the course is taught in the classroom with plenty of practical examples and exercises.
