Experience Opportunity

Theatre Making for Actors & Directors with Ned Bennett

This five-day course will be a deep dive into collaborative theatre making techniques for devising and text-based performance.

Areas investigated actively through exercises will include:

  • Viewpoints: creating expressive movement through improvisation
  • Ideograms: making expressive moments of distilled and heightened theatricality with the actor, the space and design elements
  • Points of Concentration: creating a rich inner life for the character through the actor’s engagement with the given circumstances
  • Perspectives work: imbuing three dimensional relationships between characters and between the actor and the audience

The approaches explored will provide a springboard for small and whole group tasks looking at theatre making from scratch, adaptation and responding to a script.

Our courses are adaptable for participants with disability and neurodivergence where required. All participants are asked to provide Access Requirements before attending to make sure their needs are met.

Dates: Monday 1st - Friday 5th April
