Young Programmers

Young Programmers are the future of music at Sage Gateshead!

If you’re aged 16-25 and have always fancied having a go at programming then we want to hear from you! Our Young Programmers group was set up in 2021 to bring young people’s voices into our programming.

As a Young Programmer you will work with other like-minded young people to come up with ideas for your own events and influence what we put on the stage.

As a member of the Young Programmers group you will:

• Learn more about Sage Gateshead's shows, concert series, classes and artist development programme

• Develop skills in programming

• Get a behind the scenes view of a large cultural venue

• Find out about a wide range of different music genres and artists

• Get free tickets for Sage Gateshead events

• Use your existing knowledge to make decisions

• Work as a team to turn your ideas into reality

How will it work?

• We meet monthly in person at Sage Gateshead - please read the information pack on out website, which includes the meeting dates.

• The group is led by members of Sage Gateshead's programming team, with regular conversations with other members of staff who work in other departments

• You will be given training and a budget to support your programming

• As a group you will present up to 4 of your own events every year, and contribute ideas and opinions to lots of other shows in the programme
