Applications for Young Technicians at the National Theatre are now open! The programme will start in September 2023.

The National Theatre’s Young Technicians programme launched at our South Bank venue in 2017 and expanded into a hybrid nationwide programme in 2023, with partners HOME in Manchester and the Nottingham Playhouse. The programme offers free in-depth technical theatre training for young people.

The National Theatre’s Young People programme is committed to diversity and access.

Therefore, we concentrate our recruitment on young people from groups underrepresented in the technical theatre industries including:

- young people from the global majority;

- young women;

- young people from working class backgrounds;

- and d/Deaf, neurodivergent and disabled young people.

No prior knowledge or experience is required to apply for the programme.
