Emerging Disabled Choreographer Placement

Paid professional development placement

We have a fantastic opportunity for a West Midlands-based emerging disabled choreographer to work alongside our Artistic Director, Kevin Finnan, and Assistant Director, Daniel Massarella, for a 12-week professional development placement as we create our new touring production Hidden. Hidden premieres at Warwick Arts Centre on Thursday 6 February 2025.

The emerging disabled choreographer will have the unique opportunity to shadow Kevin throughout the creation process of Hidden and will be mentored and supported by both Kevin and Daniel. They will experience the evolution and crafting of this new production, gaining invaluable insight into the professional process before Hidden embarks on its extensive national and international tour. This is an exceptional chance to follow the process of how the different aspects of a touring production come together.

We are very excited to offer this opportunity. As this is the first time we are recruiting specifically for a disabled artist to shadow Kevin, we welcome any feedback on our process or language.

Bursary and travel costs: there is a £6,000 Artist bursary available, plus £1,200 travel budget.

The placement is for you if:

• You are in the early/mid stages of your career and are committed to evolving your dance-maker skills to gain experience, try new ideas, to experiment and to learn.
• You are based in the West Midlands.
• You identify as disabled.
• You are passionate about making your own work (or are perhaps already doing so).
