There are many issues that may arise following injury and the DPF can offer help during the recovery period while you are unable to work. They can help with rehabilitation costs, as well as supporting you during this time if necessary.
The Fund appreciates that quick diagnosis can be difficult and costly, and also that aftercare is essential in order to attain full fitness. However the Fund may not be able to consider retrospective applications for surgery or treatment.
The Fund provide support with rehabilitation costs in order to help you obtain full fitness before returning to your dance career.
Please note that many of the first time applicants for this are first seen by the National Institute of Dance Medicine and Science (NIDMS) and are strongly advised that you approach them for advice and support should you become injured. NIDMS can provide you with more information about referral to free NHS clinics.
This year, the funds programme of work is supported through Acting For Others, working on behalf of the theatrical profession.
