Funding Opportunity

MGCfutures Bursaries 2022

We’re delighted to offer a brand new round of bursary opportunities in association with the Theatre Community Fund.

The scheme, founded by Michael Grandage five years’ ago, supports the many and various career paths within the theatre industry.

Since 2016 MGCfutures has supported more than 100 recipients from across the industry - from dramaturgy to directing, from millinery to marketing and from stage and lighting design to dance and choreography, directing and producing.

If you’ve been working professionally for a minimum of two years in the theatre industry and you’re nurturing an ambition or you want to take your career in a new direction, then we would like to hear from you.

To apply, tell us in 500 words (or less) what you have in mind. It’s important that you demonstrate how the project will have a significant impact on your professional development and career.

Tell us how much your idea or project will cost and include a budget with your application.Remember, we support people working in the theatre so film or tv related applications will not be considered.

The minimum amount you can apply for is £500, the maximum is £5,000.

Applications must include a CV, budget and the names of two referees.

We recognise the positive value of diversity. We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds. We particularly encourage applications from people who are currently under-represented in the Theatre Industry including those who identify as Black, Asian or with an ethnically diverse background. We welcome applications from those who identify as disabled or neurodiverse.

The deadline for applications is 12.00 noon on Thursday 27th January 2022. We will respond to all applications received by the 31st March 2022.
