Scholarship - Royal Central School of Speech and Drama 3 Year BA Musical Theatre

The Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation Scholarship will be awarded by the School as part of the audition/selection process on the basis of merit. The Scholarship will cover course fees only and will be reviewed on an annual basis.

Course Details: This unique acting musical theatre course offers vocational training in the musical theatre skills of acting, singing and dancing with a strong focus on acting.

Throughout the course students explore acting through a range of contemporary approaches to sung and spoken voice, movement and dance. They will interrogate musical and non-musical settings, ranging from Shakespeare and the modern American realists to Sondheim and the popular musical. As the course progresses students will acquire the necessary skills for the realisation of ‘character’ in both the transformational and heightened theatrical styles of spoken and sung performance. The final year is focused on professional development with three public performances, a West End industry showcase, acting for camera (including a professional showreel), radio training (including a voice reel), and recording a professional sung voice reel. Students are entitled to full Equity status upon graduation.

The course has outstanding links with the performing arts industry and this is reflected in the wide range and high percentage of graduate employment.

Graduates from the course can be seen achieving successful careers across all aspects of the industry. Recent examples include:
