Actor Development Programme
The Actor Development Programme at Peer aims to give young emerging actors a year of focused applied drama training that will equip them for what ever their next step in life might be. Most of our cohorts go on to drama school or higher education.
A year at Peer allows you time to focus on yourself as a creative performing artist and to feel what that pathway is like.
At Peer we lead you through a Level 4 Diploma for Creative Practitioners, which challenges you to examine, experience and develop yourself as a performing artist. The course consists of four units, which lead you through a process of reflection, discovery and development that culminates in a showcase of your own creative talents.
In the autumn term you are asked to reflect upon your past and the events that set you on your path to becoming a performing artist. You are given the opportunity to devise a piece of live performance that reflects the performer you are now.
In the Spring term you take the feedback and reflection from your autumn term performance and create an Action Plan that helps you develop your skills as an artist and create a Public Showcase with your cohort. To support the Diploma, you will also have regular classes in voice, movement, acting and applied theatre making.
