What will you do on the carpentry course?
In this free, three-day course you will:
- Learn fundamental skills and techniques from industry experts with the National Theatre’s Construction team
- Gain insight into construction in theatre
- Have the opportunity to get up close to theatre sets as well as building your own projects
- Gain understanding and confidence in the application of materials and use of tools
- Learn transferable skills for related construction or theatre industry jobs, such as workshop health and safety protocols, teamwork, and responding to a brief.
- This workshop is suitable for anyone aged between 16 and 19 who is interested in carpentry
- Basic carpentry skills or experience would be helpful, but not essential
- This opportunity takes place at the National Theatre on the South Bank in London, and therefore we aim to offer and prioritise places to those based in London, or who can travel to London easily and safely.
