Safeguarding Training in Dance

This Safeguarding in Dance training (Level 1) is designed for teenage girls and young women aged 13 to 21 in the dance sector. Having Safeguarding Training is an essential part of your toolkit as a dance professional. Whether you’re training to be a dancer, considering becoming a teaching assistant, or dreaming of becoming a dance teacher or choreographer one day, this training is for you.

In this training, you’ll discover:

  • How to Step In: You’ll be empowered to take action, knowing exactly how to report any safeguarding issue and who you can contact for support.
  • How to Recognise Red Flags: How to spot when something’s not right, whether it's happening to you or someone else.
  • What Consent Really Means: Understanding appropriate touch, clear communication, and your right to feel safe in every rehearsal or class.
  • How Teachers Should Act: Gain a deeper understanding of what healthy, respectful relationships and professional boundaries should look like in the dance studio.

Participants will get a 2 hours Continuous Professional Development (CPD) certificate for Safeguarding Training Level 1 at the end of the training.

Date and time: Saturday 15 February 2025, 3:30-5:30pm UK time
