Experience Opportunity

Young Technicians

Wiltshire Creative’s Young Technicians programme is open for the 25/26 academic year!

This opportunity allows young people aged 14-18 to take part in a variety of workshops and events throughout the year with our professional technicians. You will gain experience in technical and production roles and an understanding of theatre and live events.

The opportunity will involve:

  • Shadowing our professional technical staff in lighting, sound and stage management.
  • Hands-on experience helping to set up and prepare events.
  • Experience the back of house, set up and backstage communication of our pantomime by being present backstage.
  • Build confidence in working in a team.
  • Understand how to plan and learn what is needed to make an event happen.

You will be asked to attend different events throughout the 25/26 academic year, after school, during weekends or school holidays for you to achieve this. An Introduction Session will take place on 13 September.

We are looking for young people who want to explore and develop their understanding of technical theatre in more depth and gain experience working alongside a professional technical team. This is a great opportunity and the next step for those with a keen interest in pursuing a career in the technical industry.

*Please note, if you have taken part in the 24/25 Young Technicians programme, you are unable to re-enrol for 25/26 at this stage.

The full cost of this opportunity for the 25/26 academic year is £125, which will be split across two payments: £62.50 in Autumn and £62.50 in Spring. Financial assistance is available.
