About Us

A small charity with big ambitions and nationwide impact.

Get Into Theatre supports young people to explore, enter and progress in theatre careers.

We have united our work under one charity, called Get Into Theatre. Through this charity, we deliver the Get Into Theatre careers platform, Masterclass, our community for emerging artists, and TheatreCraft, our careers fairs. Together, these programmes support one shared charitable mission: opening up access to theatre careers for every young person across the UK.

We believe that talent exists everywhere, but opportunity does not. Our work exists to change that.

We connect information, training and opportunities for industry engagement to create a clear, joined-up route into theatre, helping young people understand what’s possible, build their skills and take meaningful steps into the industry.

We work with theatres, educators and industry leaders to share real stories, open doors and build a more inclusive and representative workforce.

Who We Are

Working nationwide, Get Into Theatre opens up pathways into theatre through three connected strands:

  • Getintotheatre.org – a free, accessible careers platform providing information, guidance and opportunities
  • TheatreCraft – the UK’s leading theatre careers event connecting young people directly with industry professionals and organisations
  • Masterclass – a community of young theatremakers, offering a free, year-round programme of training, creative experiences and paid development opportunities

Together, these strands form a joined-up journey that supports young people at every stage: from classroom to career.

Get Into Theatre

Get Into Theatre is a free online platform that helps young people explore and pursue careers in theatre.

It brings together jobs, opportunities, advice and guidance from across the industry; from backstage and technical roles to performing, training and apprenticeships. It exists to make theatre careers easier to understand, more transparent to navigate and more accessible to everyone.

TheatreCraft

TheatreCraft is the UK’s largest free careers event focused on offstage roles in theatre, for 16–30 year olds.

The annual TheatreCraft careers fair brings together industry professionals, training providers and theatre employers to offer talks, workshops and networking opportunities. In addition, TheatreCraft works with the wider theatre industry to create events that give young people a taste of technical theatre.

Masterclass

Masterclass is a community of young theatremakers, offering a free, year-round programme of training and development, for people aged 16–30.

It offers masterclasses, workshops, script development sessions, creative experiences and paid internships, as well as discounted theatre tickets. It supports young people to develop their skills, build confidence, grow their network and gain real industry experience.

Our Mission & Vision

Our charitable mission is to support young people from all backgrounds to access and progress in theatre careers.

We open clear and inclusive pathways into theatre — from the first spark of career interest to nurturing progression. We combine industry-led masterclasses with free digital resources and open access opportunities for all, to ensure the next generation of diverse creatives have the tools, knowledge and access they need to get into theatre and thrive.

We are the nation's trusted theatre career and access diversity specialists, joining the dots between industry and education, while supporting the theatre industry to diversify and strengthen its workforce.
