We have been providing high quality open access youth theatres on estates in Hackney since 1998. The programme has engaged thousands of participants who do not traditionally have access to arts opportunities. All our sessions are free, inclusive and open to all.

Our Model:
This established model aims to help participants develop improved interpersonal skills, artistic abilities, and emotional health & wellbeing, which has been endorsed by the Centre for Youth Impact as having a significant impact on young people. The projects are delivered within a community context and help to build community cohesion.

We are currently running nine free weekly youth theatres on Estates across Hackney for young people from ages 5-25, including a dedicated session for young people with disabilities. We also offer school holiday projects which provide participants with hot food or refreshments. We offer accreditation for participants, which include AQAs, and regularly submit young people for achievement awards.

Dedicated SEND Group (12-25)
We run a dedicated session for young people aged 12-25 with disabilities on Monday evenings. The weekly drama sessions provide a fun and supportive environment for participants to express themselves.

Perfect your Ballet skills with this classic Ballet style.

Our Ballet Classes - Pointe are a fun and welcoming introduction to Pointe focusing on developing your strength and confidence in dancing in Pointe shoes. You will begin by strengthening the feet and ankles and by learning how to prepare your feet and shoes for pointe-work. All work in Pointe shoes will be done with the support of the barre before progressing, with the guidance of your tutor, to support yourself in the centre.

BALLET CLASSES - POINTE - COURSE CONTENT

In this Ballet course you will receive:

- An introduction to Pointe and wearing Pointe shoes
- Exercises to strengthen core, feet and ankles
- Expert advice on which Pointe shoes to buy and breaking them in

Our Intermediate Ballet Classes are suitable for those who have completed our Ballet Improvers 2 course or equivalent elsewhere, and have a solid classical technique. Your ballet technique will be taken to the next level by finding space in the body to let go of tension and fully enjoy the experience of dancing gracefully.

Time at the barre will be spent examining the dynamic and technique of the exercises in preparation for the remainder of the class. Centre practice will focus on stationary, turning and travelling exercises moving on to jumps, beats and grande allegro combinations. Throughout each ballet class you will concentrate on personal expression and develop the ability to dance alone and in unison.

You will strengthen your classical ballet technique, learn more complex sequences and steps, and gain confidence to dance in smaller groups with the opportunity for solos.
