This new 2-day intensive weekend practical short course in Musical Theatre at Goldsmiths, University of London

This Musical Theatre short course is suitable for those with no prior experience as well as some formal training.
This musical theatre training course (singing-focused) will lead students in working on a chosen musical theatre piece, aiming to improve vocal technique, presentation, acting through song, and dance.

Alongside this, students will learn dance/stage movement and bringing their performance to life on stage, combining both vocal performance and acting through song to deliver an engaging musical theatre piece. Students will finish the course with an in-class presentation of their pieces.

The aim of the course is to give you all the skills and methods necessary to create a character, whilst instilling renewed confidence in your development as an actor.

The course will be predominantly text based. You will be working on soliloquies, whilst receiving feedback, direction and support in a totally un pressurised environment. This course is aimed at giving confidence, not destroying it.

Introduction To Acting gives a priceless insight into the professional tricks of the trade from a working actress’s perspective. The course will be led by Tilly Blackwood, a working Actress in the Industry for the last 20 years. She teaches weekly audition master classes at the renowned Actors Centre in Central London and has founded Audition Doctor in order to meet overwhelming demand. Participants will be encouraged to give constructive feedback to one another as part of the learning process.

Introduction to Acting is open to anyone who has always had a secret desire to be an actor or for anyone who didn’t feel confident enough to ever give it a try.

Have you ever wanted to write? This fun and interactive course will introduce various kinds of creative writing strategies to develop your passion for writing. We will explore techniques for sparking the imagination and tapping into your inner creativity, as well as developing skills and improving style.

Suitable for complete beginners and those who have already begun writing for fun, fame or fortune.

Our Online Writing Course is the perfect resource for teachers and young people navigating classroom and remote learning.

Designed for young people aged between 11 – 16 years old, our free Online Writing Course explores everything from developing characters and finding your writing voice to turning your ideas into engaging stories. Each 40 minute video session is led led by professional writers accompanied by downloadable Student Worksheets for students to use as a remote learning package.

Join Tabby Somerfield, Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance graduate, and qualified Rambert teacher for Youth Contemporary, open to all abilities from ages 7+. This class will teach the Rambert Contemporary grades, which cover the basics of contemporary dance, encouraging creativity, fun and physicality to learn and explore through movement.

If you love writing but never seem to find the time to actually do it then this course is for you. Led by experienced writer Jo Middleton, you’ll look at a variety of techniques for developing your writing practice and making writing a habit that sticks.

Each session will include guided exercises, writing time and the opportunity to read your work to the group for feedback if you’d like to, with the aim of giving you the freedom and the space to reconnect with your inner writer. No longer will you have to feel guilty every time you walk past that stack of blank notebooks – by the end of this course you’ll feel inspired and motivated to make writing an easy and enjoyable part of your everyday life whether you’re completely new to writing or simply looking to reignite the spark.
