The first UK Project to promote equity for Black Dancers in Ballroom and Latin American Dance.
Black in the Ballroom aims to inspire young people of Black origin to take up Ballroom dancing as a hobby, as a competitive activity and/or as a career, by providing them an entry into the scene, an understanding of the basic and technical fundamentals of each dance style and an opportunity to perform and compete.

Our advanced group for ages 14+ focuses more on developing theatre skills, including acting, writing and directing. Participants have the opportunity to devise a piece of theatre each term, perform in different venues, and go on theatre trips to watch professional productions.
This term we are working with professional theatre makers from Immediate Theatre and focusing on a number of performance skills to equip new actors with the experience needed as an ‘Introduction to the Industry' including: Acting For Stage, Acting For Screen, Voiceover Work and will conclude in a showcase.
Every Wednesday 5.30-7.30pm
The group will allow you to work with other writers, get involved in exciting projects, build confidence, develop your skills, learn new techniques and make new friends in a safe and supportive space.

Royal & Derngate's Saturday Youth Theatre groups are back!
Act One (8-10yrs) â Saturdays 10.30am til 12pm
Act Two (11-13yrs) â Saturdays 12.30pm til 2pm
Join our Saturday Youth Theatre groups and get creative! Be in a fun and friendly environment with a focus to increase confidence in theatre skills such as script-writing, developing characters and creating your own theatre. You'll be working with the brilliant theatre professional, Georgia Tillery-Randak and will be working towards creating your very own historical, theatrical fun theatre tour of Royal & Derngate.
This group is £70 per term. Limited bursary placements available.
Energy Train is a free 6-week course for people aged 15+ and living with a disability. Hosted at the Millennium Forum, you will learn DJ skills from Oliver Brown and Silver Fox Entertainment DJ Compere Kevin Boyle.

Nonsuch Young Company Advanced is Nottingham's most creative Youth Theatre for children aged 12-15!
Nonsuch Young Company (Advanced) is an exciting new youth theatre from Nottingham's fastest-growing creative venue & theatre: Nonsuch Studios.
Each week, Nonsuch Young Company Advanced will have the opportunity to build on their interests in drama and theatre making learning skills so you have Everything you need to make a play, be it acting, devising, directing, stage production, performing etc. NYCA is a place for young people to be themselves, build confidence, develop theatre skills, make friends and have fun.
Each group will work towards a public sharing performance in the summer term, along with our Home Rangers group and NYC group. This will be a relaxed event and a chance for all Nonsuch Studios' young performers to showcase their work for friends and family at the end of the year.
Our open access courses, no audition required.
RYT Academy classes are fun and engaging, skills-based workshops with individual, termly modules. Whether you are a budding young actor or your aspirations lie in an unrelated field, this is a great way to develop life-skills and self-confidence. Classes are fun, interactive and ensemble based.
At the end of the term, the children will have the opportunity to share their work with friends and family.
Classes are held every day of the week, at Rose Theatre, Kingston and local external venues.
Act 2 is for Years 7 - 13
Our Act 2 course is a popular continuation of the skills and confidence founded in Act 1. The course is designed to introduce students to a whole range of acting techniques. Each term offers a varied theme from naturalism to Shakespeare to immersive theatre, with every session designed to develop skills, improve confidence and complement studies at school. You do not need to have been in Act 1 to start with us at Act 2.

These groups support young people who identify as learning disabled, neurodivergent, having SEN, or other social, emotional, and mental health needs. These groups give them the opportunity to participate in creative play within a fun, friendly, and accessible environment.
