We’d love to hear from you if you’re interested in performing, songwriting, music-making or you have another creative-skill, aged 18-25.

If you are keen to explore musical theatre, this is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with artists and facilitators, in response to National Theatre shows, Here We Are and London Road.

You’ll spend the week exploring and creating alongside musical directors and facilitators – the week is all about getting stuck into theatre-making and the process of this. You’ll watch both productions prior to the course week and use these as a starting point for some musical-making during the week. The week will culminate in an informal sharing of work alongside your peers on the last day of the programme.

This year, we’re particularly interested to hear from you if you have a passion for musical theatre or plays with songs.

These opportunities are free to take part in – no prior experience is necessary, just a sense of curiosity and creativity!

Every year, we run courses around the UK for young people ages 14 to 25 who want to become members of the National Youth Theatre.

Entry to these courses is via audition only, and auditions are held between October 2024 and March 2025. There are three different routes you can take to audition, depending on where you’re based and how much availability you have:

You can only audition via one route each year, so have a read through each one before applying to decide which option works best for you.

Access to Work can help you get or stay in work if you have a physical or mental health condition or disability.

Spring Back is a weekly session using drama to build resilience, improve wellbeing and manage difficult situations.

Due to Covid-19 we know many people are feeling isolated and scared about the future.

In Spring Back, we will explore different ways to manage anxiety and plan for re-entering the world.

Participants will practice scenarios through role play and then try them out in real life in a safe way.

We will also teach mindfulness techniques and open an accessible discussion in a safe space.

Spring Back sessions are led by Helen and Adam, alongside a team of volunteers.
