Dancing helps to develop self-esteem and builds team-working and communication skills. It gives people with learning disabilities the opportunity to have regular exercise, be creative, feel more confident and be more independent.

Anjali Dance Company delivers a weekly Open Class during term time for people with learning disabilities.

The Open Class encourages creative expression and provides an opportunity to learn contemporary dance technique and performance skills. There are opportunities each term to be involved in a performance.

The class is open to anyone with a learning disability aged 16 years and over who loves to dance. It also provides an entry point for dancers who would like to join Anjali’s Main Company.

The fee is £90.00 per term.

We offer taster sessions for new dancers. For more information please telephone 01295 251909.

If you have any questions or for further information please contact us.

Spring Back is a weekly session using drama to build resilience, improve wellbeing and manage difficult situations.

Due to Covid-19 we know many people are feeling isolated and scared about the future.

In Spring Back, we will explore different ways to manage anxiety and plan for re-entering the world.

Participants will practice scenarios through role play and then try them out in real life in a safe way.

We will also teach mindfulness techniques and open an accessible discussion in a safe space.

Spring Back sessions are led by Helen and Adam, alongside a team of volunteers.

Spinning Wheel is a sensory movement and music project for adults with complex needs.

We use music and movement to create sessions that bring enjoyment, engagement and creativity and promote communication and partnership between participants and carers.

Spinning Wheel sessions are currently taking place online as 1:1 Zoom workshops. Our expert facilitators provide movement and music activities via Zoom, as well as training carers and family members in Spinning Wheel techniques to use at home.

The About Face Stagecraft day is ideal for people who want to widen their practical and technical theatre knowledge.

You can stay in this group or possibly move on to one of the other groups if this best suits your interests, ability and needs.
