Our UAL Award in Music (Level 1) is an inspiring first step into the world of music creation. We will be studying how to create music, utilise studio equipment, work collaboratively with others, and plan, develop and complete creative projects across a range of different genres, media and uses.
Picking a different focus every half term, we will be delving into the world of sound effects, creating a multi-genre class album, getting to grips with studio and stage equipment, and investigating the sound and music of film and video games.
Regardless of whether you’re a beginner with a strong interest in music, a well-practised musician or a keen home studio enthusiast, there will be something here to sink your creative teeth into.

The theme for our summer programme this year is Books and Story Telling!
We will take inspiration from Oscar Wilde’s sparkling comedy, The Importance of Being Earnest. Participants will be encouraged to explore the play’s themes of mistaken identity, love, and social conventions, and use these ideas to create their own performances.
Through lively workshops and creative exploration, they will devise unique theatre pieces that capture Wilde's wit and charm, bringing his timeless satire to life on stage.
Taught by a team of professional facilitators, this course is perfect for those studying Drama/Performing arts for GCSE and A level.
At the end of the week, family and friends will have the opportunity to join us for a sharing of their work, showcased in the Naughton Theatre.

A workshop for the politically engaged and perpetually exhausted. In the face of arts cuts, climate collapse, and rising authoritarianism, what does it mean to keep making political theatre?
Is it still a tool for change or just shouting into the void? This session creates space to reflect, rant, and reimagine: to swap strategies, share frustrations, and ask what resistance looks like onstage today.
All ticket sales will be donated to WarChild. The workshop will take place on June 22nd at Riverside Studios, 1:30pm - 3:30pm.

On successful completion of the course you will be qualified to enter Higher Education to pursue a Higher National Diploma or Degree course
We offer Art and Design Level 4 and HND Photography alongside Solihull College & University Centre. You will also develop the necessary skills to enter the workplace or an apprenticeship should you choose to do so. You could even become a freelance designer or animator.
The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Photography provides you with the skill, knowledge and visual understanding to succeed in this exciting and challenging industry. Our course gives you the opportunity to develop a wide range of technical skills on basic and advanced camera skills and full use of manual mode, skills in Adobe Photoshop, film-based photography, documentary, portraiture, studio, still life, darkroom, location lighting and fashion photography and more. We also help you develop visual awareness and attributes essential for employment in the industry or progression to Higher Education. Visits to local and national galleries form an important part of the course, and you are encouraged to take part in competitions, live briefs and exhibitions.
The Level 2 Diploma programme is a vocational course covering various aspects of music including music theory, performing and production, the music industry and professional practice. Delivered by experienced music professionals you will be able to build upon your previous performance experience supporting your progression onto a Level 3 course or employment.
The majority of the programme is delivered through practical sessions, tutorials, rehearsal and performances. You are also required to complete written work for these projects, which includes research, presentations, reflections and evaluations on your process which demonstrates your understanding of the context, processes and subject matters being studied.
The Level 2 Diploma programme is a vocational course covering all aspects of performance including devising, performing and professional practice
Delivered by experienced and specialised performing arts professionals you will be able to build upon your previous performance experience supporting your progression onto a Level 3 course or employment.
The Level 3 Extended Diploma programme is a vocational course covering all aspects of technical theatre including lighting for theatre, sound for theatre, stage management, design for stage and professional practice
Delivered by experienced and specialised technical theatre and performing arts professionals you will be able to build upon your previous performance experience supporting your progression to university, stage school or employment.
