Are you an aspiring young person considering a career in dance, or, early on in your career and looking for inspiration?

They will provide an up-close look at their personal journey and offer tips on how to best navigate challenges, whilst shining a light on the breadth of career roles in dance.

The phrase Global Majority includes, but is not limited to people of African, North African, South Asian, South-East Asian, East Asian, Caribbean, Latinx, Middle Eastern, Native American, Native Australian, Pacific Islanders, Roma and Traveller heritage or diaspora. It also refers to people who have experienced racism, marginalisation or being ‘othered’ due to the colour of their skin or ethnicity.

Wiltshire Creative are delighted to offer a Seed Commission to one artist from the Global Majority, as part of the co-producing partnership with our autumn musical Play On!.

Beyond Face CIC and Strike A Light have joined forces to create a 5 month program that will develop and identify people from the Global Majority who want to become theatre practitioners or develop their current skill set to an excellent standard through a range of paid training opportunities in the South West.

Our current theatre practitioners help us create theatrical performances with young people and communities, through a series of workshops, drama based games and devising techniques. A theatre practitioner is someone who can implement creative strategies to develop a creative outcome be it through co-created work, devised or scripted work.

Each successful applicant will work across both organisations on an individually tailored program with the addition of also working with our associate Travelling Light Theatre based in Bristol.

With a commitment to the equivalent of 12 days in person contact time spread across the 5 months, this is an opportunity that will have set masterclass days but aims to work around your life and commitments.
