Fio and Wales Millennium Centre are thrilled to present Arise. We are seeking 8 people from the Global Majority who are looking to take the next steps in their creative careers. Arise is a year-long programme running from September 2024 to September 2025.

This opportunity is paid, you will receive £150 a month to support you to attend the sessions.

What happens on the programme?

Each month, the group will take part in an industry-led masterclass, plus you will have an individual 1:1 session focusing on you own career goals and a 1:1 with a bespoke industry mentor. We will assign you a mentor based on your special interests. The masterclass will take place on one evening in the month at Wales Millennium Centre, and the 1:1s will take place at a time that suits you online.

Liverpool’s Royal Court – with support from Shakespeare North Playhouse and Curious Minds – is launching its Mentor Creatives programme to help develop and nurture Global Majority creatives working right across the artistic sector.

We are looking for ambitious and determined individuals from within the artistic community – be they writers, directors, actors or designers – so that our mentors can help them take their careers and professional development to the next level.

You might be a newly graduated student, or perhaps you’re looking for a mid-career boost. Whatever stage you are at, if you have a hunger to grow and make the most of mentorship, we want to hear from you.

An exciting trainee role with hands on experience in the technical department.

We are seeking to recruit a trainee technician, where you will learn skills in lighting, sound and stage. We will provide full training and support across these areas.

The ideal candidate will have an interest in technical theatre and be looking to develop a career in professional theatre and live performance.

There is no experience needed for this role, just a passion for theatre and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

The Assistant Lighting Designer role is an opportunity to contribute to, and gain insight into, a professional production process and develop your skills and artistic voice, by assisting the Lighting Designer Jon Clark, to realise the lighting design for THE FEAR OF 13.

The Producing and Marketing Trainee will be part of the team at The Place which supports artists to develop their practice and realise their ideas.

Throughout this traineeship, the successful Trainee will learn the necessary skills to be a confident arts producer, working with artists and expert producers in their field to grow and start their career journey. The trainee will also learn valuable marketing skills.

This is a brilliant entry point into a creative arts career for an intern seeking insight into the general management of a charity-run venue.

Punchdrunk Enrichment (PDE) is a charity creating transformational theatrical experiences for education, community, and family audiences. The charity devises immersive productions and projects that have a powerful impact by placing people at the heart of an unforgettable journey. 

The Company Intern will act as a first point of contact for PDE guests, suppliers and couriers; arranging company-wide meetings, events, travel, and being involved in working groups. The Intern will also be involved with HR and recruitment, data management and general management of the venue.

Alongside these administrative and logistical tasks, the intern will assist PDE producers with delivering work for schools and other audiences. This would include helping deliver Punchdrunk Enrichmnet’s ‘Immersive Learning Festival’ in November 2024.

Live in West London and interested in film, technology, and storytelling?

The Lyric Hammersmith Theatre and the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) are looking for young people aged 16 – 21 who live in West London to take part in a free one week Summer School in August, taking place at LAMDA. 

Led by Framesync, the cohort will take part in practical sessions, exploring LAMDA’s LED Volume, how to build 3D environments, camera technique and operation, lighting for film and stage managing a Virtual Production set. After a series of masterclasses, our cohort will work together to create and operate a short project, filmed in the Virtual Production Studio. The final product will then be edited by the team at LAMDA, and given to participants at the end of the project! No previous experience in Film, Technical Production or Theatre is required to take part, just an interest in learning more about technology and virtual production.
