Oxford Playhouse is partnering with Good Chance offering a development opportunity for someone interested in working in theatre and the arts, who comes from a refugee or asylum-seeking background. The Trainee Costume Assistant will work alongside the wardrobe team and Costume Designer on the Playhouse's 2025/26 pantomime – Dick Whittington.
This is perfect for someone with a keen interest in tailoring or fashion who is looking to gain experience within a creative environment. You’ll be part of a supportive team that values learning, collaboration and inclusion. A small budget is available for professional development opportunities during the engagement, including training, tickets for theatre shows, attendance at conferences etc.
This opportunity is specifically intended for individuals with lived experience of displacement due to seeking asylum or refuge.

Creative Scotland are working with Moniack Mhor to offer funding to support and encourage creative projects and activities by young people aged 8-30 in Scotland who may have experience of isolation or marginalisation.
Creativity takes all shapes and forms, so whether you are a writer, knitter, musician, graphic artist, street artist, dancer, photographer, film maker or potter – basically anything at all as long as it is creative – we would love to hear from you and help to support your work
Applications are open now until 18th November. They are assessed once a month by a steering group of young people who also have experience of isolation and marginalisation, so you can apply any time.
Individuals can apply for up to £500. Groups can apply for £500 per person, up to a maximum of £2000

The Egg Theatre is seeking a Trainee Creative for a supported training role from January–July 2026.
The trainee will work closely with The Egg’s Engagement team and production freelancers, gaining hands-on experience in rehearsal rooms, production meetings, and creative processes.
Opportunities include shadowing and practical learning, with training tailored to those interested in areas such as writing, directing, design, lighting, sound, or stage management.

Get Technical! offers the chance to meet members of the production’s backstage and technical teams, see live demonstrations and learn more about what goes into the making of Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
From wigs and wardrobe to sound and stage management, the event aims to motivate and inspire young people to consider a career in backstage positions in the performing arts industry. Attendees will be shown how the different technical departments work together to create the production and be given a sneak peek of some of the stage secrets and magic behind the show.
Backstage and technical team members will share stories from their own career journeys and tips for getting into the industry. The event will round off with a live Q&A.
£5 concession tickets are available for those in full time education or in receipt of government benefits.

Inviting young black dancers aged 12 – 19 years, of African or Caribbean heritage, who have an interest in dance. All levels welcome.
Artistry Youth Dance are running an exclusive 5-day dance workshop and panel discussions with leading vocational schools, colleges, and conservatoires. Participants will engage in dance workshops and panel discussions with artists from stage and screen, gaining valuable insights into the dance industry, what to expect from full-time training and information on various training and career pathways.
