A festival of original new work by 18 to 30-year-olds

London Bubble Theatre is calling out for 6 underrepresented, early career artists or groups, aged 18 to 30 and providing them with space to develop their own work. 

All you need is an idea or piece in its early stages of development and a team in place. 

We will provide you with free rehearsal space and technical support for an end-of-week sharing so that your work can get the feedback you need.

We are inviting applications for a six-week paid internship at the London Palladium.

This is a fantastic entry level opportunity for someone who has recently left school or college and is looking for hands-on training. You will work full-time at the London Palladium for six weeks, mentored by the backstage teams and receiving support from Masterclass. During this six-week internship you will observe and practise skills needed to pursue a career backstage in theatre. You will gain insight into many roles backstage, from carpentry to lighting, sound to automation, with the opportunity to learn about career options from a range of people already in the theatre industry. You will also receive a workplace reference for future employment.

This is an entry level role, intended for a school- or college-leaver, and therefore suitable for people who have no formal theatre training. However, we do want candidates with some skills in carpentry / woodwork or electrics or sound.

This internship is a development and learning opportunity for those who are interested in exploring the options for a backstage theatre career.

The BSO Young Associates is a seven-month music leader training programme for 18-26 year olds under-represented in the arts. It will provide a career springboard for three talented young people to develop skills in music leading through practical experience, training and mentoring. A platform for emerging composers to experiment and collaborate

LSO Soundhub provides a flexible environment where composers can explore, collaborate and experiment, with access to vital resources, support from industry professionals and LSO members and staff.

Develop key finance skills in this exciting 12-month internship at an iconic dance institution!

The trainee role will work across all areas of the finance team to develop an understanding of the finance function. The trainee will be supported to develop the ability to process and understand financial transactions, maintain financial records, analyse and present data and develop finance reconciliation skills.

This trainee position supports the Finance Supervisor in managing income and expenditure workflows for The Place, ensuring timely processing, payments, and reconciliations according to agreed processes and service levels. The trainee also assists the Chief Financial Officer, Finance Business Partner and other business areas with data reporting and analysis as needed.

Training will be provided to ensure that the trainee is able to complete the work independently within a timely manner and develop finance skills in order to progress towards a finance qualification.

Birmingham Hippodrome has helped make and shape memorable theatre moments for generations of visitors. As one of the biggest providers of arts and culture in the city, the Hippodrome provides over a million people a year with those same goosebumps moments through our on and off stage programmes and performances.

The Young People & Access intern will support the Young People & Access teams to deliver activities as part of Birmingham Hippodrome's programme offered to young people (children and teenagers) and disabled people. This will include supporting Artists to deliver sessions, and coordinating with the team to ensure that programmes are high quality and inspiring. The role will support the development of young and disabled creatives within the region and break down barriers to access.

In this role, you will learn the key considerations and administrative tasks involved when running projects with young and disabled people. You'll ensure that programmes are high-quality and accessible, while also gaining key skills in workshop delivery by supporting artists in sessions. Additionally, you'll gain a strong understanding of the processes and skills required to produce shows with young people in a professional venue. 

We are seeking an Assistant Set Designer to work on NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812. This person will have the opportunity to contribute to, and gain insight into, a professional production process and develop their skills and artistic voice, by assisting the designer to realise the set design for a Donmar production.

This person will have the desire to pursue a career in set design and is of a background underrepresented at the Donmar and the wider theatre industry. We define this as artists who experience barriers to work and training due to ethnicity, gender, low economic background and/or identify as D/deaf, disabled or neurodiverse.

Young Company is for young people who are looking for a welcoming space to be creative and connect with others, as well as those with a curiosity about theatre who want to develop skills within the North West’s largest and only full-time text based producing theatre.

We’re looking for Makers, Writers and Performers to work with us weekly September 2024 – July 2025. As a Young Company member you will have access to Royal Exchange Theatre’s sector-leading creatives and learn the fundamentals of theatre-making. Performers will have performance opportunities and Writers & Makers will have the opportunity to have their work platformed and performed, and receive feedback.

Performers 1 (ages 14-17) & Performers 2 (ages 18-25*) – for people who like performing, acting, working in groups and trying out new styles of theatre.

Makers (ages 16-25*) – for those interested in the behind-the-scenes areas of making theatre – directing, lighting & sound, design, stage management & producing.

Writers (ages 16-25*) – for anyone who likes storytelling and is interested in writing for stage. You might be a poet or a songwriter but want to learn more about playwriting.

*For those over 21 will prioritise applications from people who are underrepresented in theatre including but not limited to disabled young people, D/deaf young people, neurodivergent young people, Global Majority young people, working class young people.
