The Theatre Technician Apprentice is responsible to the Technical Manager, assisting with technical support on all The Rep productions, visiting productions and events
The Rep has three separate technical departments, Lighting, Stage and Sound/Video. The technical departments are run by the Technical Manager. Each department has a Head of Department and a Deputy. This role works with all these departments.
This role follows the Creative Venue Technician Apprenticeship scheme and leads to a Level 3 qualification. You’ll also complete the Association of British Theatre Technicians Bronze Award qualification.
Our apprentice will need to:
• Have the right to work in the UK
• Be 18 years or older at the start of the apprenticeship
• Not have a degree in Technical Theatre or closely related
subject*
• Be able to start in Birmingham from the beginning of October 2025 (or earlier).
