This intensive day workshop is to equip emerging directors with the practical tools, confidence, and ethical awareness needed to work in community and socially engaged settings. Through their one-day workshop, you will develop an understanding of culturally responsive directing practice rooted in care, collaboration, and artistic excellence.

In this intensive you will:   

• Develop an understanding of what it means to direct theatre within community engagement. 
• Learn practical directing and facilitation techniques tailored to diverse groups. 
• Build a toolkit for managing group dynamics, access needs, and emotional well-being. 
• Gain a clearer sense of their personal directing values and leadership style.
