The Assistant Director will have the opportunity to sharpen their dramaturgical skills working on a new play, pull their directing vision into focus whilst working with the director and provide research and practical skills to the rehearsal room. You will support actors and the creative teams, through line readings, note taking and effective communication.

The Bush Theatre is offering a talented, emerging director the opportunity to join our artistic team as an Assistant Director on our main-house production Superwoman Schema, a world-premiere production exploring complex mother-daughter dynamics after a family loss by Emma Dennis Edwards’ directed by Lynette Linton. The Assistant Director will support the production in rehearsals up until press and may be required to note the show. The duration of this bursary is spread over 6 weeks.
