At Front Room Theatre, our goal is to support brand new theatre work made in Weston-super-Mare. We have been allocated funding through Super Culture to support four commissions for artists under 30 years of age at Front Room this year. This round of commissions will take place in September and October 2025.

For this round we will commissioning:

• 1 x general commission looking for artists who wish to develop theatre, poetry, comedy, family shows or just any form of performance or live art.

• 1 x digital commission. This can be a performance that integrates digital technology or techniques in its presentation and means of audience engagement. Digital elements can include but are not exclusive to; projection, digital soundscapes and interactive technology. The commission piece must also incorporate an element of digital audience awareness, perhaps through live streaming or a way of engaging audiences through digital means. These are just some guiding examples but we are keen to hear your original ideas.

We offer:

• £600 to support your development;
• 1 week (5 days) of free rehearsal space at Front Room;
• Feedback support from the Front Room team on one work-in-progress sharing;
• 1 half-day of technical support, including an operator for your show;
• 1 work-in-progress performance (with a 50/50 ticket split).
