Tangle’s Artistic Director Anna Coombs started WOVEN in 2023 as a safe space for African, Caribbean and Global Majority creatives living in Swindon and the surrounding areas to meet and connect as an artist-led community.
The WOVEN network offers opportunities for peer-led meetings, soft skills training and practical theatre workshops, social events, and sharing projects and working practices. Our hope is to build a community where members with diverse skillsets can connect, form working relationships and support each other.
WOVEN meetings take place in Swindon and Southampton.

Would you like to have a career in music that includes facilitating community music programmes?
Soundcastle's online Sparking Change Programme runs on Wednesday mornings during term time from October 2025 to March 2026 and is an opportunity to build up your CV, widen your industry network, develop your practical skills and learn how to get your own project ideas off the ground.
We are particularly keen to share this programme with young people from a diverse range of backgrounds, including those who may have experienced barriers in accessing training or professional development opportunities.
Over 6 months (during term time), you will experience:
Supporting emerging jazz musicians with £5,000 towards their career plans
The Peter Whittingham Jazz Award supports emerging jazz artists or groups with the creativity and ambition to build a career in music.
One awardee will receive:
In addition, a further £5,000 is distributed between musicians demonstrating potential to make an impact in the scene. Those musicians will also receive one-to-one business advice.
