At Italia Conti, we believe in providing a well-rounded training that helps students develop their skills as actors. Much of our course is devoted to vocal and physical training, as well as exploring a range of techniques for creating and developing character. Our focus is on helping students work responsively within the space.
This unique course is co-taught by our fantastic BA Hons Acting and BA Hons Musical Theatre specialist teams; an exciting combination that is not found in other drama schools.
As part of the BA (Hons) Acting (Musical Theatre) course, we encourage students to be truthful to the purpose of the work, to celebrate and utilise themselves as individuals in the work, and to continue learning and experimenting with new techniques and creative ideas through the work. We offer a wide range of ideas and training methods, so that each student can construct a personal “tool box” of techniques that work best for them. Our goal is to produce versatile performers who can thrive across a variety of styles and media.
Our introductory training course covering HDTV, film and theatre makeup and hair, along with hairdressing and barbering techniques.
Learn the essential skills you need to carve out a career as a professional makeup artist with our Foundation Certificate course. You’ll cover all the areas that you need to start your journey as a makeup and hair artist capable of working on film, TV and theatre productions.
Throughout this full time 14 week course you’ll gain an understanding of the key skills required by any makeup artist, from understanding the basics of makeup application, to creating inspired period and character looks and gory special effects. This course also includes experience working with facial hair application, body painting and basic barbering.
Our course tutors are extremely passionate about their industry, and you will learn from their endless knowledge. They have many years’ experience working on some of the best known films and TV productions in recent years. They will introduce you to the latest products and techniques that are relevant to today’s industry, so you can be sure you will be learning from the best.
Holidays of one to four weeks may be scheduled during your course at appropriate times and, therefore, the duration of your time with us could last from 15 to 18 weeks.

The Level 2 Diploma in Performing & Production Arts is a triple threat course including dancing, acting and singing. There are 10 coursework units all of which are internally assessed culminating in a Final Major Project at the end of the year.

The Technical Theatre course will give you the opportunity to gain the qualifications, skills and experience to progress in the Performing Arts Industry or in any industry you wish to go on to study after the two years.
The Technical Theatre qualification offers a diverse range of subjects giving you an insight into the industry enabling you to develop analytical, creative production and technical skills. Some of the areas covered within the course include lighting, sound, costume, set construction and Stage Management.
This course provides a professional training in a theatre, with state-of-the-art facilities. The Miskin is run by experienced industry professionals.
All assignments are modelled on professional practice, learners will also have the opportunity to participate in work experience.

UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing & Production Arts (Technical Theatre)
The Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Theatrical, Special Effects and Media Make-up Artistry provides you with specialist practical skills and knowledge which will equip you to seek employment or progression within the theatrical and media make-up industry.
This qualification is aimed at you if you are looking to work in the theatrical and media make-up industry. This qualification covers a very wide range of skills and knowledge required for working in the Theatrical and Media Make-up industry. Achievement of this qualification demonstrates to an employer that you have the necessary advanced technical skills to be employed as a Theatrical and Media Make-up Artist.
