This course provides skills and knowledge in all aspects of theatre and performance and can be used to progress into higher level study, or as a foundation for your future career. It can provide you with the opportunity to study and develop skills in various aspects of performing arts through live performances and a range of projects you will not only develop your technical skills, but your performance skills too. The course will give you the opportunity to gain experience and an understanding of what is needed to become a performer. It will also help you decide whether you wish to study in industry, and prepare you for further training.

Our Level 1 Performing Arts Course is ideal for those who are looking for a career in this sector, to build on skills and knowledge to move on in your career path. You will work towards a BTEC Level 1 Diploma in vocational studies alongside Maths and English.

You will work on a range of units relating to Performing Arts alongside employability units, All work is portfolio based.

This Level 3 Extended Diploma in Production Arts Practice - Technical Theatre is a two-year full-time course aimed at people who wish to work in theatre/performance venues in a technical capacity.

The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Production Arts Practice - Technical Theatre course recognises the technical skills, knowledge and understanding needed to work within the Performing Arts/Entertainment industries.

You need to complete 18 units to pass this course successfully. Examples of units you may study on the course include:

The course will allow you to develop your technical skills and give you an in-depth understanding of the importance of the technical team. You will gain practical experience in a wide range of college productions such as pantomimes, dance shows, fashion shows and plays. You may also have the chance to do work experience.

Throughout the course, you will learn the fundamentals of acting and further your knowledge of theatre as a whole. You will explore acting skills in a range of styles and genres, through scripted performance and devising. This exciting and confidence boosting course is a perfect start for aspiring actors. You will have various opportunities to perform in productions and events during the year, which will require you to attend rehearsals and performances outside of normal college hours.

This A Level Dance course will show you how contemporary Dance has evolved over recent decades. You will look at the developments that have taken place in Britain’s leading dance company, Rambert Dance Company, through the study of a range of choreographers' work and more recent changes in Dance, whilst also exploring developing and honing your skills as a choreographer.

Practical tasks provide the creative opportunity to develop work that you will perform solo, as a quartet and for a group piece, for one of the many shows we have throughout the year. There is a focus on learning to dance with others, in works choreographed by/for you, as well as having workshops from some of the UK’s leading choreographers.

This is an exciting, creative course which challenges students in many ways, whilst preparing them for university or the world of work.

The UAL Level 2 Award and Diploma in Performing and Production Arts is a one year course, equivalent to four GCSEs, and is a foundation for students who wish to pursue a career in performing arts.

You will develop skills in acting techniques, performing arts business, dance performance and musical theatre, and will have regular opportunities to demonstrate your learning as part of our performing arts showcases and acting shows throughout the year.

In addition, to enhance your learning, you will complete 30 hours work experience or work-related activities throughout the course.

Drama is ideal for students who wish to develop their performance and presentation skills. The Drama A Level provides students with the opportunity to explore their own creative expression, supported by a critical understanding of dramatic practitioners and theatrical works. Students will be encouraged to enhance their interpersonal and communication skills, working collaboratively to create and perform pieces across a variety of styles and genres.

This course is designed to deliver and perfect the core and basic skills required to be a make-up artist, an integral part of that being hairdressing techniques required for the industry. This courses will be a stepping stone into the industry or higher education. Work experience and competition opportunities are an integral part of the courses.

This Level 3 course is designed to further develop the practical skills and theoretical understanding of studio production, live sound and the music business, giving you a working knowledge that can be both applied and developed further

The course has a technical and production-based focus, which prepares you for a career in the music industry. You’ll develop your skills in our fantastic purpose-built studios, under the guidance of our expert staff, all of whom have extensive industry experience, from a range of roles within the music industry. This qualification is the equivalent of up to 168 UCAS Points.
