From performing on stage, TV or film to dancing or choreography, there are so many career and progression opportunities in this exciting, dynamic and creative industry, all of which we will prepare you for while studying with us.
The UAL Level 2 Award and Diploma in Performing and Production Arts is a one year course, equivalent to four GCSEs, and is a foundation for students who wish to pursue a career in performing arts.
You will develop skills in acting techniques, performing arts business, dance performance and musical theatre, and will have regular opportunities to demonstrate your learning as part of our performing arts showcases and acting shows throughout the year.
In addition, to enhance your learning, you will complete 30 hours work experience or work-related activities throughout the course.
This course is designed to deliver and perfect the core and basic skills required to be a make-up artist, an integral part of that being hairdressing techniques required for the industry. This courses will be a stepping stone into the industry or higher education. Work experience and competition opportunities are an integral part of the courses.

Drama is ideal for students who wish to develop their performance and presentation skills. The Drama A Level provides students with the opportunity to explore their own creative expression, supported by a critical understanding of dramatic practitioners and theatrical works. Students will be encouraged to enhance their interpersonal and communication skills, working collaboratively to create and perform pieces across a variety of styles and genres.

This Level 3 course is designed to further develop the practical skills and theoretical understanding of studio production, live sound and the music business, giving you a working knowledge that can be both applied and developed further
The course has a technical and production-based focus, which prepares you for a career in the music industry. You’ll develop your skills in our fantastic purpose-built studios, under the guidance of our expert staff, all of whom have extensive industry experience, from a range of roles within the music industry. This qualification is the equivalent of up to 168 UCAS Points.
The course is a two-year A-Level programme
You don’t need GCSE Media Studies to take the subject at A Level at Bilborough Sixth Form College but you will need creativity, imagination, a willingness to develop a range of technical skills and an interest in all aspects of the media: television, radio, magazines, video games, social media and the music industry. We follow the Eduqas specification. The course is assessed through a mixture of exams and practical coursework and you study a wide range of texts from popular TV spy thrillers such as Killing Eve to Video Games such as Assassin’s Creed and music videos by Beyonce.
You’ll work in a specialist edit suite and will have access to all the equipment you need to successfully produce practical projects. Much of the shooting for the coursework takes place outside college. To allow students to take the cameras off college premises it is essential that they are insured. As it is impossible to cover these items under the general college insurance, the department underwrites the insurance and charges each student a £15 fee to cover the cost. This money should be paid at enrolment in August.
This intensive course covers fundamental aspects of actor training performance. You will develop skills in various performance areas such as children’s theatre, screen acting, and devising and directing theatre productions, as well as developing an understanding of the performance industry.
In addition, you will undertake preparation and training for auditions for future industry opportunities and higher education courses. To inform and enhance your learning and development, you will be expected to undertake independent rehearsals, study and research. This course is aimed at students who have ability and interest in drama, acting and theatre studies.
You will be involved in a range of performances which will develop your skills as a performer, and some of those performances will be selected and then toured.

You will have the opportunity to take on performance roles in a variety of shows, including musicals, ballet, dance, music gigs, fashion shows and conferences. You will also have the chance to undertake work experience with reputable providers which will help you build up your industry contacts.

You will be prepared for higher education at either university or vocational dance school. Theory based units exploring the dance industry will underpin your practical units and give you the knowledge to explore choreography.
