The course is full time and lasts for one year. It provides a basic introduction to the study of music, including the music industry, performance, music theory knowledge and music production using technology.

You will have the opportunity to study a variety of units covering various aspects of including: Producing a Music Recording, Working in the Music Industry, Exploring Music Composition & Working as a Musical Ensemble.

There is a Major Production Project that is equivalent to two units and provides learners with the opportunity to apply the skills they have developed in the planning and production of a final music project that could be a recording or a gig.

Functional skills in English is also an integral and compulsory part of the course, that aims to develop the skills of learners and help them develop the ability to study academically at a higher level.
