Have you got a natural musical talent? Do you want to pursue a career as a musician, sound engineer, or producer? This course is an excellent place to start.
The two-year UAL Level Three course in music will provide you with the skills and knowledge to progress into higher education or the music business. This course is designed to suit a wide range of musicians from drummers and guitarists to vocalists and brass players. You will be based in our own dedicated performance space which has a 180-seater theatre, dressing rooms, dance studios, rehearsal rooms, recording studio, MAC suite, and technical theatre workshop.
The emphasis in Year One is focused on building your skills as a musician and developing your confidence for live performances. You will be introduced to music technology and be able to create and edit tracks. You’ll also look at musical styles and explore well-known songs as well as having the chance to write your own material. You will perform as a band and as a solo artist if you wish.
Year Two is designed to build on these skills and techniques to enable you to create your own recording projects, set up a label, perform gigs at a variety of venues, and prepare music for publication. You will meet a variety of industry professionals and have support to plan your career.
The Lincoln College music course has a very high acceptance rate into music colleges such as BIMM, Goldsmiths, and Leeds College of Music and Production.

The UAL Level 2 Award/Diploma in Performing and Production Arts (Musical Theatre Pathway) is a course designed to develop students' potential for working in the musical theatre profession and prepare them for future qualifications.
During this fast paced, practical one-year course, students will cover a wide range of performance skills, contextual activities related to dance and will also be given the opportunity to be involved in public performances. The method of learning is a mixture of both tutor led and practical sessions.
Those enrolled on the course will study the three core disciplines of musical theatre: acting, singing and dance. For their acting lessons, students will focus on a range of skills, techniques and practitioners. For their dance lessons, students will study ballet, jazz and tap, along with other dance techniques such as contemporary, street dance and choreographic skills. There is also a strong focus for singing, which will include lessons in vocal technique, choral repertoire, acting through song and applying technique to performance.
The course is taught by subject specialists, and you will be working both independently and in small groups, utilising our state of the art facilities. There may also be opportunities for students to attend external performances or workshops with industry professionals.
In some sessions, skills development or projects, you may work alongside other Performing Arts L2 & L3 students. This reflects industry practice and behaviours.
On Completion of the course, you will achieve a UAL L2 Award or Diploma in Performing and Production Arts Performing & Production Arts (Musical Theatre)
The course provides advanced theoretical and practical skills, knowledge and experience across all the key areas of music production.
This one-year programme follows on directly from our HNC in Music Technology. It will enable you to develop advanced, industry-standard skills in music production, studio and live sound-engineering techniques, mixing & mastering, composition techniques and sound design for interactive media. All students will produce their own professionally mixed and mastered EP or album as a part of this course. In addition to these practical elements you will also complete a research-based dissertation on a topic of your own choice.
Teaching staff all have considerable music industry experience and can guide students, depending on whether they wish to pursue a career as a composer, producer or sound engineer, or further their studies with a top-up degree programme.
