We want to produce technically-strong, versatile dancers through training which is responsive to the trends and demands of professional dance.
Our course provides the technique, creativity, understanding and professional awareness to sustain a career as a professional. Classes cover a broad range of dance styles and complementary skills to make you an employable performer. We give you specific critique and guidance in your development, as well as offering the experience of being part of a company. You collaborate with students from other courses, giving you invaluable insight into the creative process from other perspectives and realities.

As an emerging dance artist, we want to strengthen your skills so that you can progress onto further study or work professionally.
You undertake intensive training in a variety of dance styles to extend your abilities as a dancer. As part of a small intake of students, you receive specific critique and feedback during classes and rehearsals, allowing you to continually develop and improve. You also develop the stamina and discipline required for higher-level training or professional work. This course helps you become a versatile and confident performer with a strong professional insight.

This programme is for advanced students with exceptional aptitude in their specialism, and strong professional and artistic ambitions. It provides specialist, professional training if you are looking to embark on a national and international career.

The Artist Diploma represents post-Masters progression, and is designed to meet the specialised needs and aspirations of outstanding performance students, and to support them with the competence and sensitivity required.

This masters degree enables you to create and showcase an original production. We welcome applicants with a diverse range of skills and life experiences to contribute to our MA Acting (Company).

Our MA is an opportunity to develop or reinvigorate yourself as an actor and create original theatre productions. Working in teams, you learn how to take charge of your professional journey and become self-sustaining, by creating public performances adaptable to different venues and circumstances.

You experiment, innovate, and get to grips with contemporary approaches to extend your range of presentational skills. Through an immersive and ensemble-based approach you develop your technical skills with industry leading professionals. This paves the way for you to step out into the profession with the confidence and connections to be a success. Throughout the course you work as a year group to produce four performances before your final project. For this final project you form into smaller companies, or a single-person company, with a grant from us, to create and realise an original work, testing it out by finding audiences for this in external venues.

We want you to be a versatile, creative and innovative actor, capable of creating your own opportunities.
We offer training that prepares actors for rehearsal, performance, production, interdisciplinary creation and industry engagement. Working in challenging scenarios with traditional and innovative practitioner approaches, you expand your psychological and physical processes to hone your acting methodology. You experience classic and contemporary works, alongside commissioned new writing, giving you the chance to bring characters to life for the first time.

You collaborate with external professionals and students from other disciplines to realise full, professional-scale productions. You also develop self-employment, enterprise and interpersonal skills.

As an emerging actor we want to strengthen your essential skills, knowledge and audition techniques so you can improve your chances of successfully progressing to further study at one of the highly competitive drama schools/specialist Higher Education providers.
You undertake an intensive, highly practical and pragmatic 24-week course where preparation is key. You develop your individuality and authenticity as an actor, while generating a portfolio of contemporary, classical and musical material. You also put all you have learnt in to practice in a final performance project in one of our main production spaces. This course equips you with storytelling and stylistic skills, self-belief and industry knowledge to help you stand out from the crowd.

The Laine Theatre Arts Foundation Diploma in Dance and Musical Theatre is an intensive 28 week vocational training course. It is designed for students of 16+ years who may lack either the level of knowledge or experience required to become strong contenders for a place on their chosen performing arts diploma or degree course and/or the accompanying personal, psychological strengths. The focus is to build a sturdy base of technical skill in dance, singing and acting whilst developing a strong work ethic and allowing self-confidence to grow as a result of increased knowledge and understanding.

The Foundation Course is also the beginning of a longer journey – the exploration of a student’s own unique sense of individuality.

Throughout the course, students will study a full timetable of traditional and commercial jazz, classical ballet, contemporary, acting, singing technique and audition/interview preparation. Students are nurtured through the college application/audition process and are offered career advice in personalised 1-1 tutorial sessions throughout the course, guiding them towards the next stage in their development and/or training. Most of our past students would agree that the Foundation Course is intense, both mentally and physically, but that the resulting sense of achievement and progression is highly rewarding. They have often been noted for the professionalism of their approach when they move on to further training courses and we are very proud that a many ex-students describe their time on the Foundation Course as ‘the best year of my life so far’.
