From performing on stage, TV or film to dancing or choreography, there are so many career and progression opportunities in this exciting, dynamic and creative industry, all of which we will prepare you for while studying with us.
You will begin your first year of study and then once successfully completed you will progress to your second year, which is equivalent to three A Levels.
You will develop skills in acting techniques, performing arts business, dance performance, musical theatre, performing with masks, storytelling, scriptwriting and improvisation. You will get the chance to demonstrate your learning in our regular performing arts showcases and acting shows throughout the year - culminating in an end-of-year musical - as well as working with industry partners such as Zoonation Dance Company, Wolverhampton Grand Theatre and Vamos.
In addition, to enhance your learning, you will complete 30 hour of work experience or work-related activities during the course.

The BA (Hons) Directing degree at the University of Plymouth is a unique blend of newly designed curriculum, apprenticeships, and collaborations with professional theatres in the South West. It is designed to appeal to high achieving students interested in learning more about the art of theatre direction.
As a partner with Theatre Royal Plymouth, the Plymouth Conservatoire offers you access to professional directors, actors, designers, and producers who bring with them a wealth of specialised and skilled expertise. Further, you are able to access the professional spaces of TR2 and Theatre Royal in the classes offered by the theatre such as our introduction modules and final year performance lab modules.
• The apprenticeship and integration of directing students onto acting modules allow the directing students the opportunity to assistant direct a professional director and further understand the complexities of the craft and unique directing styles. These placements and apprenticeships are designed to assist you in networking and building your CV for future employment.
• In the final year, you will undertake a semester-long professional apprenticeship with a theatre off-site. The apprenticeships are designed to build your skills as a director, and you will be required to evaluate your own contribution and discuss the different strategies for collaboration undertaken within the theatre.

BA Contemporary Theatre and Performance at Wimbledon College of Arts is for students who are interested in making performance.
BA Contemporary Theatre and Performance will give you the opportunity to develop as a collaborative theatre-maker, creative entrepreneur and innovative performance practitioner. You will work collaboratively to create contemporary theatre productions and to develop innovative forms of performance.
The course will enable you to work in an ensemble and to form a company or collective. You will plan, design, develop and deliver performance projects for a range of theatrical and non-theatrical locations and contexts, ensuring your work is engaged with contemporary culture.
BA Acting and Performance at Wimbledon College of Arts is for students who are interested in acting as an artistic practice and a key driver of contemporary culture.
BA Acting and Performance will enable you to become a creative, confident and articulate performer who can work across a variety of performance forms and contexts. You will develop your physical, vocal and intellectual skills both individually and in an ensemble. The course will also provide you with the opportunity to work with new technologies and innovative performance practices. It will make you ready for industry but also ready to challenge it, placing you at the cutting edge of 21st century developments.
