The UAL Level 2 Award and Diploma in Performing and Production Arts is a one year course, equivalent to four GCSEs, and is a foundation for students who wish to pursue a career in performing arts.
You will develop skills in acting techniques, performing arts business, dance performance and musical theatre, and will have regular opportunities to demonstrate your learning as part of our performing arts showcases and acting shows throughout the year.
In addition, to enhance your learning, you will complete 30 hours work experience or work-related activities throughout the course.
Drama and Theatre Studies is a highly practical course which explores the creative processes of theatre making from the perspectives of an audience member, performer, designer and director. Through the exploration of set texts and live performance, you will develop your performance, creative, critical and analytical skills.
You will be a part of our Bury College School of Performance, where you will have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of performances, showcases and enrichment activities.
You will attend the theatre at least twice with college - possibly visiting London’s National Theatre and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. We also offer the opportunity for students to gain LAMDA performance qualifications in Acting and/or Musical Theatre.
BA Contemporary Theatre and Performance at Wimbledon College of Arts is for students who are interested in making performance.
BA Contemporary Theatre and Performance will give you the opportunity to develop as a collaborative theatre-maker, creative entrepreneur and innovative performance practitioner. You will work collaboratively to create contemporary theatre productions and to develop innovative forms of performance.
The course will enable you to work in an ensemble and to form a company or collective. You will plan, design, develop and deliver performance projects for a range of theatrical and non-theatrical locations and contexts, ensuring your work is engaged with contemporary culture.
BA Acting and Performance at Wimbledon College of Arts is for students who are interested in acting as an artistic practice and a key driver of contemporary culture.
BA Acting and Performance will enable you to become a creative, confident and articulate performer who can work across a variety of performance forms and contexts. You will develop your physical, vocal and intellectual skills both individually and in an ensemble. The course will also provide you with the opportunity to work with new technologies and innovative performance practices. It will make you ready for industry but also ready to challenge it, placing you at the cutting edge of 21st century developments.
Are you interested in physical actor training, and performance-making that uses the body and movement as a starting point? Our MA Physical Acting will help you develop your artistic voice by diving into this specialist aspect of theatre practice. Within a supportive environment you will test your creative ideas through solo work and ensemble projects, extending your networks and industry knowledge through study.
This challenging practice-based course offers a unique approach to performing and making, emphasising innovation, experimentation and imagination. You will engage in physical and vocal training processes for actors, acting processes for performers, autonomous and collaborative practice, and interdisciplinary approaches.
The course also gives you the ability to reflect on your practice, provides you with industry knowledge of fundraising and marketing, and gives you the opportunity to develop a portfolio with which to launch into professional artistic work.
