This course is ideal if you have an interest in acting, the performing arts industry and would like to pursue an education and eventually a career in this industry. The delivery is vocationally lead through a series of performance projects. You will specialise in various acting projects and become a member of Nu.Dynamic Theatre Company.
Skills and knowledge will be developed through a focus on the acting industry. The course also aims to develop wider skills to enable you to progress on to a level 3 study programme in acting.

The BTEC Acting Diploma is an exciting, two-year, immersive programme designed to refine your acting skills and prepare you for a dynamic career in the performing arts industry. 100% coursework-based and assessed across four units, this course offers a hands-on, practical approach to training, making it ideal for those passionate about pursuing further drama studies or entering the world of performance.
Structured around a drama school training model, the BTEC Acting Diploma equips you with the discipline, focus, and imaginative thinking necessary for both scripted and devised performances. You’ll be encouraged to take risks, experiment with new methods, and adapt to different performance styles.
Throughout the course, you’ll engage in a variety of practical workshops that will hone your acting techniques, develop your creativity, and challenge you to push your boundaries as an artist. As part of a collaborative performance company, you’ll work alongside like-minded peers, learning the value of teamwork and artistic synergy.
As part of your training, you’ll regularly attend theatre visits to experience live productions, providing insight into the industry and broadening your understanding of the craft. The programme also offers opportunities to become involved in Brighton’s thriving theatre scene, where you’ll have the chance to perform in local venues and gain real-world experience on stage.

Do you dream of a career performing on stage or perhaps you'd love to work behind the scenes helping run big theatre productions?
Our Level 2 course will expand upon your understanding of all elements of acting, dance and singing to provide you with the knowledge, skills and understanding to progress to further.
Students take part in several performances throughout the year including pantomime, musical showcases and with external partners as well as cultural trips and further enrichment.
The course and department also have strong links to Eleven Arches and Kynren, where it will be strongly recommended that you volunteer as part of your work placement for this course, due to the expansion of their project and possible employability in the near future.
Progression from this course is to Level 3 Performing Arts.
This course is suited to those with an appetite to develop skills and knowledge in all areas of performing arts. As a performing arts student you’ll have access to our bespoke facilities including an in-house studio theatre, private dance space and costume and props store.

Over the course of the qualification, learners will develop and master skills in a variety of performance disciplines such as: acting, vocal, movement, audition techniques and production skills whilst working collaboratively on key projects and performances. Learners will be equipped with the necessary skills to gain entry to higher education courses and work within the performing arts industry.
Learners will study a number of key units including: Developing performance and production skills, Preparing for progression, Exploration of specialist study and context and Extended project.
