Level 3 Music Performance and Production is a very practically based course including a portfolio of performances and theory based assignments.
Practical elements include use of audio production facilities, practice booths, Apple Mac & PC software, keyboard lab and gigs in performance venue (both in house and externally) . This course gives the opportunity to perform live gigs and record a demo. The College has strong links with the local Music Community, the Royal & Derngate and the Roadmender. The method of learning is by a mixture of academic and practical sessions.
The Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Music Performance and Production have been designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to further study and training in a range of music performance and production disciplines.
The qualification has been designed for students who have an interest in music performance and/or music production who wish to explore and extend this interest via a full-time, immersive learning experience
Prospective students should be aware that employment in the music industry as a performer is extremely demanding and requires a high level of skill and commitment.
On completion of the course, you will achieve a level 3 UAL Diploma or Extended Diploma in Music Performance and Production.
The Level 1 Diploma in Music, Performing and Production Arts (Music) offers a flexible and challenging programme of study related to the creative arts and music sectors. This particular pathway is suited for students who want to explore the creative arts with a specialist interest in music and music technology. These qualifications are for students who wish to learn the basic skills and knowledge of sound and music technology and practice at Level 1, they support progression on to further study or training in the subject, and on to potential future employment in the sector.
As a vocational award, the Level 1 qualification provides the opportunity for students to begin developing the relevant skills and knowledge as a platform for further development. These qualifications are also suitable for those who want to develop a personal interest or hobby. The method of learning is a mixture of written work, discussion sessions and practical work. Practical work will be done both individually and in groups.
You will receive encouragement and the support you need to progress into further education or the music industry by providing you with a structured framework to work with.
The qualification is designed to provide specialist work-related qualifications in a range of sectors, consequently subjects studied will depend on the specialist subject area. Those students with an interest in music and music technology will study in a project based format.
As part of the study programme, students will also be expected to develop and practise their English and mathematical skills and work towards a Level 2 qualification.

Each project is designed to give you an insight into the professional world of the performing arts. Throughout your course you will develop a ‘toolkit’ of essential skills and techniques as a foundation to your professional performance work.
This course is fully funded for 16 to 18-year-olds.
The level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Performing & Production Arts, Musical Theatre is designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to access and progress to degree level study or employment in industry.
This course will provide you with the opportunity to explore, acting, dance and singing techniques within a qualification structure which is stimulating, demanding and supportive. Producing performance work within our professional standard performance venue.
You will undergo an extensive programme of training which will equip you for working within a range of performance situations. Each project is designed to give you an insight into the professional world of the performing arts. Throughout your course you will develop a ‘toolkit’ of essential skills and techniques as a foundation to your professional performance work.
The level 3 Diploma / Extended Diploma in Performing & Production Arts – Acting is designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to access and progress to degree level study or employment in industry.

This Music Performance & Production study programme will introduce you to practical skills in performance, sound recording, composing and music technology including software based production.
Students will learn from industry professionals with state of the art equipment including fully featured recording studios and rehearsal suites.

The HNC (Year 1) and HND (Year 2) in Dance is aimed at people looking to make dance performance or dance teaching a career. It develops skills in a range of dance styles with the opportunity to perform on stage to a variety of audiences.
The course is taught in a highly practical way using workshop style classes in which students work individually and in groups to develop and refine their skills, supported by tutors with extensive dance experience. There are at least two public performances each year with the second year focusing on progression to top stage schools around the country or the third year of a dance or similar degree.
