This producing internship offers a comprehensive, hands-on introduction to the operational and creative processes of a working theatre.

Launch your career in theatre by gaining hands-on experience supporting productions, championing new voices and helping bring accessible, real-life stories to audiences at a leading London theatre.

This producing internship offers a comprehensive, hands-on introduction to the operational and creative processes of a working theatre. It’s a unique opportunity to build practical skills in producing, programming and arts administration, and to make a genuinely meaningful contribution to Park Theatre’s output. The producing intern will play key role in supporting the producer and producing coordinator to ensure productions of Park Produced (in-house) and visiting work are created with care, and run smoothly and professionally. Moreover, their involvement in script reading, submissions tracking, and attendance at workshops and programming discussions will give direct access to the artistic decision-making processes that shape the theatre’s talent development work, public programme and audience offer. The producing intern will also have the opportunity to represent Park Theatre at events and engage with internal teams to develop professional confidence, industry awareness, and strengthen their emerging networks.

This role is part-funded by the Mo Siewcharran Memorial Fund which supports internships for young talent from ethnicities that are under-represented in the theatre, publishing and music industries.

Restoke, in partnership with Rhiannon Faith Company, are launching Risk Space – supporting emerging artists to find their artistic voice, with a focus on performance making, co-creation and socially engaged practices.

Making art is impossible without taking risks, so we’re creating supportive spaces to test, fail and learn. Through workshops, shadowing opportunities, free space and support to produce your own events, Risk Space will support a community of performance artists and makers in the area.

RISK SPACE WILL OFFER:

Risk Space is for emerging artists based in Stoke-on-Trent/North Staffs who are interested in performance making. You may work in dance, theatre, music, spoken word, performance art, or across multiple art forms.

We are primarily supporting artists in the first eight years of developing a professional practice, including those who may have trained, returned to practice after a break, or come to performance making later in life.

TIMELINE:

Risk Space is designed to fit around artists' existing work and commitments. Apart from one required introductory workshop in September 2026 and an evaluation session in July 2027, the programme is flexible, allowing artists to make the most of the opportunities most relevant to them.

Good Chance and Sheffield Theatres are partnering to offer a practical Production Management traineeship for someone from a refugee or asylum-seeking background with experience of forced displacement, to join our team for 2 to 5 days a week over two months.

The successful candidate will support the planning and delivery of productions and events within a busy producing theatre. Working closely with the Production Manager and wider Production and Technical teams, the Trainee will gain practical experience of professional theatre production from planning and rehearsal through to technical rehearsal and performance.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

The trainee will join Sheffield Theatres during the final stages of production for Twelfth Night, gaining first-hand experience of the technical rehearsal process and opening in the Crucible Theatre. The Open Works Festival will also take place during the early part of the traineeship, offering opportunities to experience work across the Montgomery and Playhouse venues.

Preparation and rehearsals for Singin' in the Rain will be in full swing throughout the placement, giving the trainee the chance to follow the production's journey from the rehearsal room to opening night on the Crucible stage.

Alongside these productions, there will be opportunities to observe the early stages of other shows' development and design processes, providing insight into the planning, collaboration and creative decision-making involved in bringing a production from initial concept to final realisation.

A strong understanding of all production disciplines is fundamental to effective Production Management. The Trainee will therefore work alongside colleagues across Production and Technical teams to develop knowledge of the processes, people and skills involved in creating and delivering theatre.

THE TRAINEESHIP OFFERS:

Application Deadline: Sunday 6 September at 6pm

Interviews: Week of 14 September

Treasure Island - About the Show
Will you risk everything for gold? Or is some treasure worth more than money?

Jim Hawkins is growing up in the salt-aired historic harbour town of Watchet on the coast of West Somerset, but wants more from life than one day becoming the owner of the family B&B.

The arrival of a mysterious sailor and the treasure map he brings with him turns Jim's ordinary world upside down. Home comforts are soon a distant memory as Jim is aboard a ship bound for who knows where in search of stolen gold, sailing alongside a crew of colourful rogues, brave adventurers, and one utterly unforgettable, silver-tongued pirate: Long John Silver.

Digging for buried treasure brings many things to the surface and Jim must face a question that no map can answer.

Bursting with rousing folk music, crashing waves, daring adventures, and a great deal of laughter, this is a story about loyalty, courage, and the most important journey of all - growing up and working out what really matters.

The Assistant Director will need to be available for the following periods of time:
Rehearsals (in Taunton): from Monday 9 November 2026 - Friday 27 November 2026

And will be given free tickets for one preview and Press Night:
