Created in consultation with teachers across England and Scotland, this vast resource offers lesson plans, workshops, discussion points and resources tailored to teach theatre careers directly in the classroom.
This Toolkit was built in partnership with ATG Entertainment and was funded by Arts Council England National Lottery Funding.
We know a drama studio or classroom display board is so important to students and teachers alike. Download and print our specially designed Theatre Careers Poster. Or contact admin@getintotheatre.org for professional printing.
Theatre Works: Our focus is to provide theatre tickets to disadvantaged children across the UK. To apply, at least 30% of the students in the school should be Pupil Premium (free school meals).
Go Live Theatre Projects: We believe all children and young people should have the opportunity to experience the life-enhancing benefits, of seeing and participating in theatre. We open the doors to London’s world-class theatre to children and young people who have fewer opportunities or need specialist access support.
Speakers for Schools: We aim to close the opportunity gap and level the playing field for all 11-19-year-olds from state schools and colleges by providing fair access to fully funded work experience and inspirational talks that will help them to reach their full career potential. We are committed to using our influence to champion social mobility and improve diversity in the workplace.
Saturday Club: Young people across the country are spending Saturday mornings at their local university, college or museum discovering subjects they love. Saturday Clubs are open to 13–16-year-olds of all abilities and are free to attend.
ATG Entertainment Teacher Discount: Our Local Heroes discount offers 25% off shows across the country exclusively for teachers, social care workers, prison officers, armed forces and ‘blue light’ professionals and Max Card holders. Keep your eyes peeled for their teacher CPD events too.
Theatre for Every Child Campaign: Society of London Theatre & UK Theatre believe that every child has the right to go to the theatre, to experience the joy and opportunity that it can bring. In October 2023 we launched a new national advocacy campaign, Theatre for Every Child. In order to sustain our world-class reputation for theatre, we need to invest in our future audiences and workforce by ensuring every child has the chance to go to the theatre by the time they leave secondary school.
The School Trip: We’ve looked at every step of a school trip from planning, booking and taking it, to see how we can make each stage easier for you. From filtering school trip ideas to an account to manage all your bookings and our exclusive teacher events – we want to make school trips as easy as possible for you.
